Preparations for the 25th installment of the Travel Tour Expo (TTE) are underway with the organizing committee (OC) promising a more efficient three-day run for participating companies and bigger surprises for the public.
Exhibitors including food concessionaires were recently gathered at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City as they were briefed on the procedures and other house rules more than six months ahead of the expo.
This year’s OC led by its Chairperson Marlene Dado Jante affirmed that the goal for the silver edition of the TTE is still to provide the participants with the top of the line travel and tour promos and packages at dropdown cost.
She also committed that they will be working on ensuring that TTE, which will open on February 8 next year, will run as smoothly without any technical or logistical glitches.
According to Jhaytee Wong, February 8 day will be allotted for technical dry runs and other preparations while the afternoon will become the formal opening of the expo.
“We have an extra day prepared for all your concerns on internet connection and booth setup with the contractor. We will make sure that everything is running smoothly before the actual opening the following day,” Wong said.
Meanwhile, participating food concessionaires will now be allowed to set up both in the first and second floors of SMX to allow the public more choices during the run of the expo.
Paul So also urged companies to have their menu pre-cooked especially those that require grilling so that there will be less smoke emissions in the venue.
Upgrades on the international travel tour expo (iTTE), where international travel and tourism companies can transact with their local counterparts on a business-to-business set up are also being implemented.
The iTTE, which will again be located at the second floor of SMX is expected to draw at least 50 international sellers and 300 local buyers.
“We want the iTTE to be a venue wherein tourism stakeholders in the country can expand their networks and services,” TTE Committee Chair on iTTE buyers Evangeline Buenaventura said.
To highlight the exhibitor briefing, the board also announced the creation of a special association that will attend purely to the yearly Travel Tour Expo event.
The TTE, considered as the country’s biggest annual travel and tourism event, will open to the public on February 9 in SMX. Doors will be opened an hour earlier at 9:00 AM. and close at 8:00 PM.
